History Shows That There Are No Invincible Armies

Joseph Stalin was a ruthless leader (1928+) and premier (1941+) of the Soviet Union until his death in 1953.  A famous quote from Joseph Stalin was:  History shows that there are no invincible armies.  This quote reveals that even the mightiest, most successful firms must continually evaluate their strategies and be wary of rival firms.  For example, low-end American hotel chains such as Motel 6, Super 8, and Days Inn are eyeing with concern the new breed of European-style hostels springing in the USA.  There are example hostel companies from Europe now building or planning to build hostels in the USA, such as Beds & Bars, a U.K.-based hostel company scouting locations in major U.S. cities.  Hostelworld, a popular hostel-booking website, shows 275 active hostels in the USA, compared with 3,570 in Europe – but that is changing fast (See WSJ, 8-8-13, p. B8).  All companies, including hotel/motels, must continually evaluate their strategies and make timely changes to combat ever-ending rival companies, products, and services.
